Well, I suppose it's that time - another Journal
5 months ago
So, about a month ago, I woke up and thought I'd pulled a muscle, rendering me lame-pawed on my left side. Despite pain, indeed occasional agony, I, with the aid of significant doses of ibuprofen, soldiered on, gritting my teeth, flattening my ears, and in general toughing it out through my day job, that being delivering packages by hand, while moving on foot through the labyrinth that is the New York City Subway System and the associated busses.
Fast forward a month, and the pain was still there, accompanied by swelling and redness and heat. This morning, the agony was simply too great, and I decided to pay a visit to the local Emergency Room.
Thus began an ordeal stretching from around 8 in the morning until 6 at night, with copious amounts of blood removed from my body and no small amount of scans, both ultrasound and X-Ray, only to find, in the end, I apparently had somehow dislocated not one but SEVERAL bones in my foot. I have been places in a hard splint and relegated to crutches, and a follow-up with a podiatrist. There's a possibility of surgery if there's no other way to correct this.
At the same time, this means I currently cannot perform my job, and, despite assurances to the contrary, well, Murphy has oft-times had an axe to grind with me, and my face is oft-times to the grindstone. I fear this shan't be an exception. On one hand I pray my pessimism is wrong, and on the other I am expecting it will end up being right.
So, that's all the news that's fit to print pertaining to the Kyubi. May all your days be brighter and better.
Always to one and all,
Mika

I hope its something you get through WITHOUT surgery.
Hope things recover swiftly. We miss you.
I do hope you have a fast recovery and that you can keep your Job.
*Gives all the hugs*
Back in high school I remember dislocating my wrist after falling down the waterfall. My arm was black and blue from my thumb to my elbow. Never did go to a doctor, and mom and I were arguing at the time, so she said if I could sit and watch TV all day, I can drive myself to school, take notes, etc. Main problem was it was my dominant hand, and I couldn't release my parking break, or hold a pencil. My biology teacher wouldn't accept my notes for the assignment, but I'm like... I kinda CAN'T WRITE right now... Nothing I can do about it.
One or two nights later, I got so fed up with the pain and the numbness, out of a fit of frustration, I slammed my fist on the desk and accidentally popped it back into place. Thankfully I didn't do any damage in the process, which I later found out was a very big possibility. >__>;
Good times. 0/10—would not recommend. *Hugs*
Hopefully everything will work out. I will be seeing a podiatrist pertaining to this, and, for this week at least, have a medical excuse for work. Hopefully the cure will be time off the foot as opposed to surgery, but the surgical option isn't off the table.
I'm so sorry to hear you had to go through that kind of pain, also, sweetie. I wouldn't wish it upon an enemy, let alone a sweet friend.
