Beware of Scammers!
A PSA to beware of scammers impersonating me/artists!
I had a client let me know someone tried to contact them on Telegram after they AB an auction of mine. Scary! They used my username and even used my name-name.
The scam account was brand new, which is one red flag. Another was the scammer was located in a non USA location, which is another red flag reguarding it being me. And last but not least, the scammer was using Telegram. While I do have a telegram, I almost never use it, and won't ever go out of my way to contact a client with telegram unprompted.
I won't ever contact a client on another platform unless we've spoken about it first or they contact me on another platform first! I always start with FA notes since the sales are posted on FA.
Be safe out there! It's disheartening that someone would impersonate me. It puts stress on not only me, but more importantly, my clients! I would be very sad to know anyone got scammed by someone who was using my information to do so.
Best wishes to everyone, be safe! ❤️

I sent jacedoge a note on FA, and replied to the scammer, asking them to reply to the note on FA to verify their identity. They replied that they could only access FA on their desktop, and they were away from home for the next few days. They even offered to send a sketch before taking payment (so they probably planned to use a godforsaken AI program to produce a fake WIP.
Before I asked how they knew I AB'd the YCH auction (being away from their desktop and all), the scammer deleted the conversation on their and my end.
Such an interesting feature on Telegram...it allows people to be huge pieces of shit and delete the evidence off their victims' phones.
Bottom line: Always verify the contact's identity before you send the payment.
