Can I selectively rag on modern art? Some of it is pure shit, and some of it is brilliant.

Oh, totally go for it. For instance, I think the "virgin mary covered with shit and clipped porn" guy is the biggest no-talent since Nichole Smith. Just no fair ragging on modern or postmodern art as a whole.

Ironically, the big complex machine that poops is something that I thought was brilliant. I have no idea who made that, but something about that machine is awesome on far too many levels.

My tastes in modern art tend to go towards playing around with scale and repetition and such. This guy who worked on the movie 'Labyrinth' did these super realistic sculptures of people in odd scale. The best, by far, was a 20 foot tall grumpy naked old man tucked into the corner of a gallery.

Yes, that guy is awesome.
