Kinda Done With Modern Gaming

Switch 2 looks disappointing for its price point. Can't afford it anyway. Still stuck with an Xbox One X and an outdated computer. Can't afford to upgrade the PC or a PS5. Multiplayer experiences seem hollow and toxic.
So much of the stuff I've been enjoying the past 6 months have been things that I didn't get to experience when I was in my teens and twenties. New Vegas, Etrian Odyssey, Saint's Row (pre-2022).
Was going to try taking commissions to begin saving for a current-gen console. Can't bring myself to charge for artwork. Just not interested anymore.
Indie scene is good. Sometimes I feel like the games aren't made for my palette, like well-made food while my lizard-brain is craving MSG.
There is part of me that feels the FOMO. It's not strong, but it's loud enough that I do feel down whenever I think of how behind I've slipped in one of the few hobbies I still indulge in.

I can pick up basically any game for tge PS3/PS2 and have the same experience I did as somebody picking it up for the first time in 2006...it's all made me kinda disillusioned with the whole thing so I just keep replaying the same games from when I was in/just out of high school
