Pro-para? What is that?
Ok so I've seen the term pro-para/pro-paraphilia thrown around here and there around the internet and to this day I'm not even entirely sure what it means. Are any of you familiar with it? Could you fill me in? If you want to keep it private you can DM me here or DM me on Discord or Telegram.

But anyway yeah, I'm just trying to make sense of this term and online discourse can be very confusing. I apologize for being a boomer in this regard lol.

The term paraphilia was coined only about 100ish years ago, by a friend of Freud.
?-? That's something I feel like someone shouldn't declare on such a wide basis unless they specify exactly what they mean. For instance, when it comes to something like pedophilia I don't believe anyone chooses to have this attraction and it really should be treated like a mental disorder rather than a legitimate sexuality. I've seen some people claim the attraction itself is as valid as anything else in the LGBT community which I completely disagree. Are either of these pro-para stances? Both? Neither?
Of course folks probably should discern what they mean, but plenty use the blanket statement and rally under such banners and are piggybacking off popular leftist ideology to push their extremist "all-inclusive" narratives.
Oh by the way, you're a Nazi if you disagree with them.
As an aside, I have unfortunately seen this type of sentiment when it comes to abusers who have personality disorders. Claiming things like narcissistic abuse doesn't exist. I feel like stuff like this is a combination of two things: 1. well-meaning people who want to extend empathy to others. 2. Abusers/potential abusers wanting to take advantage of the well-meaning people. These topics aren't black & white; nuance is import. I feel the same thing is true with a lot of this paraphilia talk.
I hope I managed to answer your initial question though.
