[work rant]

In short, Employer tried to reduce our pay for taking vacation days. Result : not taking this vacation day if he doesn't change his mind, so he will have to pay us our normal (and earned salary). He is trying to scam us because he is running out of money and want to force us to quit.

Pretty sure that's illegal. I'd talk to a lawyer, if I were you.

it's illegal, so we are not taking his deal. Lawyer wouldn't help. It's just, we have to work when we could have used vacations days.

Depending on where you live, vacation days may be part of your 'pay', so it may be illegal for him to even offer this 'deal'. I'd say call a couple of employment lawyers in the area and ask if they 're willing to do a pro-bono consult on it.

OP
oh, it's illegal, but since we are not taking it, nothing can be done.

Vacation days are a part of your benefits package when you signed on. If the boss is trying to prevent you from taking vacation days by denying you pay, then they are in breach of contract and can be sued for such. Not only would he barred from screwing with your vacation days, he would also need to pay damages to you and anyone else he pulled this on.

we are not taking his deal, so it'll end here, but we are being screwed..

Might be time to get the old resume in order... If they want to get rid of you, they probably will at some point. Also you don't deserve that kind of treatment.

I can't wait for him to get rid of me... he will owe me a lot of money. If I go away by myself, I get nothing.

It pretty much works the same way in Canada... If you quit, your boss (legally) has to give a good reference. Otherwise you can sue him for defamation. If you get fired you get several thousand dollars from the government.
