Even as somebody who's a part of the LGBTQ+ community, Pride Month can be a bit hard for me. Especially because I still don't exactly know who I am, and due to the place where I live, and my extended family (I am lucky to have an immediate family who I feel is pretty accepting, but still), I don't really feel like I have the capability currently to be fully out and myself in public. And I envy- but am incredibly happy for- my fellow queer and trans friends who are able to do this in spite of the situations they're in.

One day though, I will be able to break free fully, and until then, I'll continue fighting this uphill battle and trying to express who I am as best I can with people I know are safe.
