In a provocative and illegal act, Trump has federalized the California National Guard and ordered them into LA to back up ICE and border guards in their raids and to back them up in suppressing protests. He did this against the wishes of LA mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsome, who's now suing him over this.
He also, even more troublingly, says he's willing to call in the military, and Pete Hegseth says he has 500 Marines on high alert standing by at Camp Pendleton.

There's a rumor curremtly going around that Trump has now ordered Hegseth to send 700 marines to back up the Guard there. I hope they follow their oath not to obey illegal orders.
* Update as of 5:00: The rumor is true, and the number of National Guard has been doubled to 4,000.

At least 27 members of the press were hurt by "Non lethal" munitions over the last few day, sending some to the hospital.
The cost of sending in the Guard and the Marines is estimated to be $134 to $140 million for 60 days.

This is all just part of Drumpf's plan to declare an insurrection and martial law. It's an attempt at a Reichstag moment. It's straight out of the fascist playbook.

Did you see how one pointed and shot at a reporter who was not even being confrontational? Lady was talking to cameras, this animal looked at her, pointed, and shot.
