A.I pictures and such
Hello everyone!
As the journal title say I posting about AI generated pictures. I know many of you will would bite through my throat for this and may be I'll be the bad person.
But... As we know FurAffinity does prohibit the upload of AI generated pictures right?
Hey this is supposed to be a tolerant and accepting community.
I know many of you worry about AI generated pictures will allegedly decrease your workload or amount of orders as people will use AI instead.
In my point of view yes AI may cause some loss in income as many of you doing art for a living I can understand it is worrying
But let me point some things out.
-Some people can't really afford over hundred dollars and up to a few hundreds for commissions including me... I will always buy pictueres: adopts and commissions from you guys when I can afford it, just please try to see the point that I try to make
-Some people may lack of visual artistic skills in general or people have lost the artistic skills, due to health issues: like after a stroke, accident, or motorneuron disease that affect their ability, or completely disable them to keep drawing...
So these people may use AI as an artistic tool to express themselves, and the prohibition of uploading AI generated pictures basically prohibit those people to upload their work made with AI. Not an easy thing to write a prompt that exactly reflects the visual appearance of your work what you have imagined how would it looked like.
I am not rebeling against these rules, only point things out to maybe ease the strict rules on AI generated pictures and create a category for this, and tag those pictures made with AI as you need to tag your uploads as made for General audience, Mature audience, or Adult audience, there may be another fourth tagging option as for AI generated
Many will do not like this journal I can understand Please don't be childish and block me for this journal as you never know when a life changing event will occur with you.
I know its not related to FurAffinity but We've unfortunately lost one of our colleague permanently not through death but sadly he had a life changing medical event. He had a stroke and now he can no longer drive any more. No one knows when this medical events will occure in your life just think about probably there are a few artists out there, who had life changing medical events that rendered or disabled them to draw, and their only way to keep making visual art is AI
Your sincerely William

and for 10 bucks you can get a few decently detailed picture. Sure there's caveats of addiction and lack of interaction and experiences through enjoying living being's art and making art, but my nuanced neutral opinion is based on actually reading a few academic books and also on focused observations rather than the general public's knee jerk passive hivemind pseudo-philosophies.
It's a fact that not everyone have the variables to meet the threshold needed to make enough money or mustard the skills to do art. Also due to the dopamine destructive nature of society in general. I see AI as a Compensation of modernity's woes. Hive minds don't speak truth when all it is is hollow declarative statements coming from people who equally do other destructive behaviours. when the very same people who cry vapidiness of AI very them selves show vapid personality with consumerism and trend following and being capitalism's boot licker towards artists' who over value their generic neon colored dicks.
If you didn’t make it, you can’t post it on this platform, that goes for mood boards and other things like that too, and I’m sorry but just because u chose the words to put into an ai generator doesn’t mean you created it or own it in any way.
Also medical issues isnt a very good excuse for stealing content, as there are tons of disabled artists in the world who create their own works.
Also some websites are transparent about using people’s info but some artists have no choice because selling art is their job and they can’t just leave their following. Like I know some people are still on twitter for that reason, and like Twitter and Facebook for example doesn’t delete your info after you disable your accounts cuz they’ve already collected your info and photos
A.I. will only ramp up as a technology grows, they train user's facial features and text and contextualize it base on user's use of social media from facebook, to discord to twitter posts for "scientific" and for pattern recognitions in aide for corporate endeavors . I think there's bigger "moral issues" to be addressed in Neurological-social engineering for profits than horsecocks and inflation porn art being stolen.
Thus why I wonder why people care so much when most of these complaining people online use mainstream platforms that algorithmically turn themselves into genie pigs. YouTube Translations of videos into various languages didn't pop up from magic and honest science. It came up by microscoping society.
AI is the new revolution like the advent of the computer, the new ultimate materialistic god figure that man looks up to as man is tired of their pass knowledge, never content, enslaved by their lust for chaotic novel and "easier" pleasures through technological advances, because the alluring fascination of increased quantity bliss propels them. but there's always an equilibrium and caveats. Corps use assets and techniques to feed the addictions of the high upper class. Middle class civilians use technology to feed their addiction but the billionaire forces them through manipulation their psychology to carefully navigate them through the chaotic side effects. As the corporations and government need the lower class to produce such technology and take the brunt of side effects and complications, to propel the lower class into both manufactory works and the technology use in order to validate the new technologies. and to feed the billionaires at the end of the day.
You will not get rid of AI. AI aides government, AI aides the Military, AI aides financial planning. AI also aides the planning of materials needed to process the copious amount of materials that get's pump into food and other needs that sociality eats and use, you will not get rid of AI.
It's like trying to get rid of a new deeply woven fabric of society, like the computer!, private autonomy was usurped in the 1900s, Privacy was usurped in the 2000s, creativity is now the next humanistic attribute being mangled.
Either learn from this fact, and read on some related topics of the subject, like Neurological and sociological materials, and better deal with the actual situation. Or be trapped in the loop of passive ignorance, passively morally crusading to feel that fleeting artificial high.
(I never devalued morals, I simply stated corporations don't care therefore it's not worth using it as a talking point in this topic for reasons I've described before.)
You failed to understand anthropic ramifications of Technologies in general. As I was not focusing on FA policies. (You failed to remember I pointed out inkbunny and e6ai existing makes that an irrelevant topic.)
My critique, rather is towards the vapid misdirected moralisation of AI which dumbs down and hide the actual true ramifications and effects of AI.
Morals were never a part of the conversation
To be perfectly fair artist are copying other artists style elements and then adapt it into their style. Is that classed as artwork theft if you adapt other artists style into your style?
The difference between human artists learning and ai art is that ai art “learns” by analyzing existing art and replicating EXISTING PATTERNS, it does not add elements that don’t exist from other artworks. It’s basically just a big ol collage of mostly stolen information.
Info stolen due to a lack of consent from the people the data was gathered from. Just because some people consent doesn’t mean everyone does
Ai art doesn’t learn and incorporate techniques into its own style, it just copies and pastes.
Also yes if an artist copies another person’s art and posts it saying it’s theirs that is stealing, m’dude
Im not saying ai is going to make someone’s exact character, you keep saying that and keep trying to tell me im wrong for it when i never once said that. I said the DATA USED to make that art, is STOLEN
If i break into your house, steal your homework, copy it, take it home and write it in my own words, then turn it into the teacher, i stole it. Ai art in a nutshell
Though I’m not too sure why you came onto an art website to whine about why you’re not allowed to post content that doesn’t belong to you, especially when that content is made at the expense of the artists on the site.
Ai art doesn’t have its own style, it’s not a human with the ability to create something of its own. It will never take someone’s art and create something in its own style. It can’t create new information. THAT is what separates ai art from a human learning. Tho a human artist also will create without the need to copy other people too.
Also it doesnt recognize anything other than whats been put through it, which is a lot of stolen artwork that the ai companies didnt have permission to use. This is why you see many many many ai that uses Ghibli art and Disney art in particular. Miyazaki despises ai art and has never consented to having his works used that way, and Disney is currently suing ai companies for stealing their work
Go and research before you try to publicly support something that hurts people, and don't use disabled people as an excuse when theres a lot of disabled people fighting against it ✌️
