Gender tags just disappeared from all pics overnight and the option is gone from the submission process.

Yeah, wow, FA staff, thanks for removing our ability to tell at a glance what gender a character is or dictate quick and easy what our own characters are, we were totally all begging for this. Such a massive improvement.

they took away everyone's gender, can't have shit this pride month 😔

on one hand i know it didn't make much sense for it to be on stuff like music/photographs/art where there isn't any characters, but i still liked having it as a sorting/category option even if most of the time i had to go with the multiple characters option/leaving it blank if i didn't know, that and as you say it at least cleared up a lot of confusion of how to refer to the characters in the drawings
why did they make the comment-reply-highlight blue and then yellow too :(

Hell, what are we supposed to do for trans or NB characters, constantly have them wearing or carrying flags like some kind of Twitter stereotype or add dialogue to each pic where they bring it up unprompted?

i know for some submissions there's plenty of space to just add that detail back into the tags, but it's still probably gonna be a bit harder to notice and cause a lot of confusion with commenting on stuff/trying to clarify bits about characters

Then I hope enough people on the Discord tell them what a headass decision this was until they reverse it, because holy fuck, what a dumbfuck thing to do A. DURING PRIDE MONTH, and B. on a site that has plenty of characters you can't instantly tell the gender of posted on it!

They say a post is incoming with multiple reasons. Apparently it's to have more accurate results and better filtering mostly.

And what, are they gonna just invade all our shit and forcibly edit it now? I don't even use tags, other people don't either. This is in NO WAY simpler and I still hope enough people call out how stupid this is.
