i know i try my best to keep drama shit out of this tab and out of the stuff i post here in general, but i feel like browsing the fatfur tag on browse has progressively gotten worse and worse to go through, maybe my tastes have gotten way too limited or im just grumpy at my output this year or something, that and this isnt about anyone in particular and please don't turn this into a big fight or anything
the character choices are half the usual blend of popular furries/dragon ocs and i find that respectable, sometimes there's the really good obscure choices or really cute designs, but there seems to be an influx of artists who just think that the ugliest designs for humans are the best thing in the world and that they should dump all of their art out in a row
half of the stuff people mark as Adult isn't cocks or sex or what the aup actually defines as requiring a higher content label, it's either first parts of sequences that end up mature at best or artists who are too scared to use the general tab because they joined the site after 2022 and think But That's Where The Bad People Can See Me!!!!
if anything most of the actual rare good stuff keeps getting posted by people who don't know that the categories/tags can get filled in or just dont bother using them that much, so i only find it through a search or checking out other cool people's fav galleries

i rarely use the browse feature on this site though, mostly i just search whatever pokemon pops to my mind and go "damn still nobody drawing chimecho porn"
fair enough on the latter, sometimes i just search for "mimiga" or "temmie" to see if any new good stuff pops up and i completely get that feeling, sometimes theres characters i try to look up and go "damn how is there no fat art of em/only porn from 12 years ago"
I guess there's no other real good alternatives to a general art posting site. I don't think humans should count as "fatfur" as that's kinda just... fat humans. I get that apes could be furries but as someone who has learnt to not like skin and also asexual I've just kinda learnt to follow things on FA.
Fortunately the times I do check the main page are not that bad, and I have been getting more tolerant of human art because it's surprisingly common in a server I'm in. Joined it because it was a streamer's server and i thought they were a bun first and foremost... well they sorta are, but a majority of their cast are humans or variants like vampires.
I get that the blending of ideals is good for a majority of cases but when it comes to art and preferences I think it's fine to be strict about your own preferences and maybe even add some regulation as to how some folks tag their posts. I would much prefer this over an AI trying to identify my art I upload and then false flagging it as like cub porn or some shit like that.
Though, it's very much redeeming to see that another person struggles with the same problem.
that and to clarify i'm not against every bit of human art since there are some really good artists out there and styles that i think look fine, for some reason i'm way more picky if a drawing of a human looks off than if a drawing of a furry character looks off and i don't want to be bombarded by on-model brian griffin porn either
that and you raise a good point, and im not saying this journal as a "if you're into this we can't be friends you're evil get out!!!!!" because i explicitly hate when people try to police that into something more than "ehhhh it's just not in my taste", and i'd much rather they implement the idea of a minimum tag amount than going through with any random automation that could mislabel art as something worse than what it's intended to be

And also just typing in the character name into the search bar and pray that they have more art of them, specifically fat art
