I think its probably a mix between competition and lack of funds. When this was posted, I saw this but it was when it originally was both slots I believe it was. And the other part is I get paid bi-weekly and wait until the second week to pay most of the time.
I've always seen and loved your ychs, but always seem to see them when I cant afford them from bills

Hmm, I can't say for sure as to why it didn't sell within the first few days, maybe just poor luck with the algorithm there.

As for after you split the slots, I'd wager its been slow because people might not want to pair their character up with someone they don't know, or because (not offense meant but) the person who bid the male slot has a completely empty profile so folks might be unsure what sort of character their female oc would be paired up with. Speaking for myself, I'll usually check a bidder's profile to see if they have a ref sheet that I assume they'll use for the art to get an idea as to who my character is getting paired up with.

Don't get me wrong, I think the art is great value and I like the idea, I might have sprung at it if I had someone to pair with. I think the issue you're running into could come from one of several places, the above would be my guess. /shrug

About the empty profiles, when I see one under my sale, I usually copy the person's username and look up in the FA search if they were drawn anything by other artists (they usually do mention the username in the description). In 95% of the cases the person is safe so I do that very rarely, but I think you can still do that with YCH's you're interested in

im just starting to collect art, and finally got any art to reference. i love that its been split so i only need the 1 char i want to use, but im worried that the other artist is private, so i cant even guess at the male half

I think you can ask the second person in notes or search up their username on FA search to see art with them! They're on my discord server and their character looks absolutely lovely to me :3

For me, it is honestly just budgeting. I get paid every two weeks, but with bills and rising prices of general things, it makes things more difficult to budget for a new commission. I would love to buy one from you at some point, but I can only do when it’s more practical for my finances.

I wasn’t going to bid while it was one slot for both characters. After you split it i was vary interested in the female slot, but my art budget has been committed to a larger project for the last few weeks.

No funds since I'm buying 3 wedding gifts and I already bought gift art and a ref sheet. My sona and her partner are also monogamous so two character slots are risky for me unless I can confidently AB both slots.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Personally, like me my fursona is not female for the starring character spot, and I don't have a mate or even a close female friend to take that character spot so I could take the male character spot. I'd feel awkward to be paired with someone I don't even know. Taking a guess for other potential commissioners, it's probably because of the economy making money tight for people with increased expenses and taxes, and decreased wages and disposable income.
