EDIT:
Thank you all for your input!! <3
Right now I'm on my way to be more active on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/khaliaartwork/
And then I will consider Bluesky as another platform. Thank you again!! ♥

What do you prefer, X or Bluesky - and I mean both as an artist or as a watcher? I know that many people are going to say Bluesky (because X trains AI on your art etc.), but...
I know that Bluesky is very open, not that toxic like X, but I know that X has a bit more potential reaching people from what I've seen. I genuinely can't decide. Maybe trying both for some time can be a choice?
I have an account on both sites (empty for now), but I am seriously thinking about going to post somewhere else very soon (don't worry, I am not going anywhere, I just wish to expand a bit more).
I would like to have it 18+, similar stuff I post here on FA with NSFW as well. What I will definitely leave sooner or later is my Facebook page that has been basically dead for years anyway.
I also have Cara for quite some time now, but it seems like it is not a popular site at all and I feel like there is nothing to do to get a somewhat decent fanbase.
Overall, I consider running my socials as the worst thing ever. But I guess I'm not the only one that feels totally drained out and overwhelmed just trying to "promote" your own creations.
I would appreciate any ideas and experience from you. You can note me if you don't want to comment publicly.
Thank you ♥

Bluesky, from what I have seen, seems to be more of an echo chamber. So, good for people who want to follow you there. Believe me, I've tried posting on Bluesky before and no one seems to see me.
So I'd say X is probably your best bet.
Twitter does have a better algorithm that can funnel people to your page, but you'll also never really know what % of your views are useless bots and image scraping tools. Additionally, just using Twitter(X) is exhausting, and the constant pestering from bots, advertisements, and bad actors can add unneeded stress to handling the social media side of work.
Some folks have had success with using tools like postybirb to just post directly to Twitter(X) to avoid directly using the site while making sure to link back to FA/Bsky with every post. The direct link to a different website will make Twitter less likely to share your posts, but it will also catch people and bring them to your more active sites.
Sorry for the whole wall of text! But I hope this helps you~
A while back I was trying to grow an art social both on Twitter and Bluesky at about the same time. And though Twitter obvs had a head start, Bluesky eventually overtook my Twitter in terms of followers (though granted I've had to put my art socials on the back burner because irl stuff happening). And when codes were still a thing but then started to pile on, I made my personal on Bluesky. Wasn't even trying to grow but people kept following me on that one to where it overtook my art socials lol, all because I interact with folks (mostly reposts, likes, and comments, I barely post)
A thing that helps is to fill the account with old artwork and repost your own stuff often! Links aren't suppressed, you can say Ko-Fi or Patreon freely without getting your posts shadowbanned. You can post your commission links. No need to be funky with it by putting in symbols or numers.
There are furry specific feeds you can get on to help get discovered (FurryList is the biggest, just follow the account), use tags to get on other more specific feeds. I don't really use other feeds, I'm only on my following but I still discover plenty of new folks through reposts and in my posts appearing in feeds if I use certain keywords and if I did steps to appear in a certain feed (ie; following Furrylist to show up in their feeds).
As far as 18+ Bluesky allows it as long as you label it properly. There is a strong culture of labeling things to both help in filtering out and for discovery as well. Bluesky automod can be a pain for this since I've seen artistic nudity be slapped with sexual content label but they can be appealed at least (I even saw concept art of sandals be hit with an adult content label lol). You could theoretically host both SFW and NSFW on your profile with how the filters work but a few do opt for separate accounts for their own reasons.
And a nice thing about Bluesky is that early on there was very good effort to foster the culture of curating your own experience. No dunking, no complaining about what people like or make. Don't like it? Just mute or block and move on. And nowadays it persists pretty well though there have been some inklings of old Twitter culture seeping in after codes went away and after each Twitter migration wave.
As for Twitter, I check on it and it becomes more and more of a ghost town as time goes on, especially after each controversy. Even if you have more followers on it, interactions are happening less and less and if they do, its a bot or the rare person that is clinging onto dear life.
I do have other tips but they center more around getting yourself (and maybe twitter followers) to use Twitter less and more of Bluesky instead but that's not relevant here.
It was quite a lot but I hope this helps!
So.. both ? Means more people interacting with your art.
