TSJ 7/17/2025: Unknown territory.
NEW RECORD for a power outage... 4 hours and 17 minutes. I couldn't really do much since the power was out so I decided to just take a little nap. I was melting in bed since the air was very heavy, and especially stagnant. Just happy to be back online. I mean I could have used my phone, but I wanted to save my phone battery in case the power outage went on for a lot longer than it did.
This morning I heard something on my local 'public radio' station, CBC Radio One. David Suzuki was talking about it being too late to turn back time on climate change. We all must adapt to this messed up weather, and this is why I have entitled this entry as 'Unknown territory' since we are all heading into unknown territory in terms of weather. I am kind of nervous of what this weather is going to bring all of us in the future.

In the past in Chicagoland we've had power outages that went on for several days. Fortunately very few and as a result of heavy rain. Also the last major heat wave we had in Chicago was back in 1995, which the news mentioned.

Alright, thanks for that. Getting worse every single year though.

I also remember the 1998 ice storm in Montreal. 60 hours without power. Thankfully we had a fireplace back then.
