A simple warning emoji (⚠️).
That's what I will use from now on to indicate any submissions whose subject matter may not be of everyone's tastes. It probably will be more useful for stories since those don't have a thumbnail like images do, but I imagine it could be useful for any pics where the thumbnail may not show clearly what the image is about.
I already put it on the submission title of items in the main gallery; those in the scraps will follow at a later date.

Sometimes I'm actually more pissed off, that some other artists for example don't mark images which clearly indicate or imply violence as "mature" at least - and when you point that out to them or just ask to please do so, because it might be better because it's sensitive content, you get blocked or yelled or whatever at.
