- Asterix the big fight : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aster....._The_Big_Fight
Based on the French graphic novel series that I grew up on, this French animation tv show works many stories into one (but centred on the album that it shares the name of) and has good quality. The modern humour doesn't always work in the general style of Asterix, but in general it is still silly and mostly funny. I was really surprised about how they would make an entire series of one album, but as I said before, they added some others albums' storylines there too. 3.75 barks out of 5
- Dr who (Disney season 2): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who_series_15
I have been really enjoying this 15th Doctor, being so different yet reminding me of many of my favourite doctors. The stories have been a bit all over the place, there is no bad episodes but the quality is not always there to make them great episodes. The acting is never bad, it's all about the stories. The whole magic is introduced works at time and doesn't as others. I really wanted more of out of that doctor, it's a shame he leaves so soon. The season also feels a bit rushed at times, like they wanted to say more but couldn't, as some plot points are really glossed over. Still, i give it a 4.25 barks out of 5
- Thunderbolts * : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolts*
I expected a pretty by-the-numbers movie but still really enjoyable, and some part of it really feel like it, like the underusing of Ghost or the really short time with Taskmaster. Some really important stuff like Bucky being a senator are really skipped over but then you have really good character development scenes, deep interactions, heavy storylines and a general good humour until the movie need to be deep and dark, in which it usually deliver. The story in itself is pretty predictable, especially when you remember most of the characters present here, but it still work pretty well. I don't know about the twist at the end, need to see how they'll build on it. 4.25 barks out of 5
- Watson : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watson_(TV_series)
So, made Sherlock Holmes a medical show and make it about Watson after the famous detective felt in the falls in Switzerland was a really original idea. So we get House, MD but with Watson in the role of House and he is a way nicer guy but it's the same kind of out of the hospital investigation to solve medical problems with a bit of conspiracy. It's a bit unbelievable at times (no, not all illnesses have a genetical solution) but I like the characters and the investigation. 3 barks out of 5
- Go Go looser ranger (season 2) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go!_G....._Loser_Ranger!
Disney tricked me by putting season 2 as the second half of season 1 on their websites, but I looked it up and found it. A really good follow-up to the first season, taking right away on the storylines and giving us a lot of world building. The world is way more than we thought it was and there is way more intrigues that one could imagine. I was enthralled and I really enjoyed everything that was happening, with really great fights and interesting bad guys (and there is a lot of bad guys in this show and really little good guys... even those who seems to be the good guys are really bad). I'm told the third season is the last, which is a bit sad, there was a lot to explore with this world. 4 barks out of 5
- Superkitties (season 2) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SuperKitties
Sporting new powers and costume out of nowhere, the second season explore a bit more in depths stories and develop on the relationship. It's toddler stuff but toddler stuff I am here for. I quite enjoyed all the silly scenes and attitude even if a lot of the plots are just toddler logic. 3.25 barks out of 5
- Sherlock & daughter : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherl.....k_%26_Daughter
I was surprised to not found one, but two, Sherlock Holmes based tv shows. I know the character is public domain, but two shows released at the same time ? Anyway, this one is totally different since instead of the modern era, it's the original era, set after the main era of the books and involving a daughter and bad guys coming from the usa (it was impossible to not have any American connection since it's an American tv show). The actors are good, the investigations done really nice, the overarching plot is a bit too convoluted but in general it delivers pretty well on the adventures of an older Holmes and his young daughter that he just discovered. 3.75 barks out of 5
- Blood of Zeus (season 3) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_of_Zeus
Delivering on the huge epic that was set up with season 2, we got a huge battle going with dangerous world threatening quests. The really good writing is still here and the good animation delivers on the challenges. Still a bit upset on the free gore at times or the weird design choices (typhon looks like a mix of a dragon and a demon, not really much Greek aesthetics) and it is really sad in general, but that gives much more weight to the challenges and the epic. 3.5 barks out of 5
- 7 deadly sins : 4 knights of the apocalypse (season 2) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_.....the_Apocalypse
Another season taking over from a continuing arc from a previous one, we get to learn more about the characters, the world and the general intrigue. The characters are sadly not that interesting in general, and the overall plot is going even more bonkers than the previous series with the reveal for the main character's origins (yes, that the third reveal of his backstory). This is a bit annoying at times but still some pretty good moments. 3.25 barks out of 5
- Dekarangers : https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wik.....tai_Dekaranger
Going to the counterpart of my third favourite power rangers series, Dekarangers is really big as we see them in a lot of crossovers. The main character is really annoying and really improve only at the end of the series but I love the investigations (they are more a cop series than SPD) and the characters' interactions (their Doggie Kruger is also a really cool character and his design works for me too). The main bad guy is a bit of a disappointment, he is a really dangerous and all that (i mean, all the bad guys have genocidal level of victims in this show) but he is so little involved in the plot that it is hard to really feel involved when he finally come for the finale. The movies and specials after the end of the series are much more interesting, and i'm sad that they didn't go further with the crossovers with Metal Heroes. 4.25 barks ouf ot 5
- Ironheart : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironheart_(miniseries)
As expected for a series that has LGTBQ+ and a woman of colors, this was review bombed and a lot of those negative reviews are still weighing down the critics if you look online. But this short mini-series is pretty cool and build up from the introduction of the character from Black Panther 2. The character development and the whole thing about PTSD and the challenges with the villain were really interesting. I loved how it expanded at street level the MCU like the old Defenders show did and there is a lot of cool scenes with a lot of emotional moments. A lot of twists are really surprising and hint to something much bigger to come. I wish for more episodes to explore more the characters. 4.25 barks out of 5
- Gundam : witch from Mercury : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobil.....h_from_Mercury
So, another rehash of the colonies VS Earth fight, which is a bit repetitive with so many gundam iterations, but this one does take a bit more original take. The question of military technology used to help disabled people is a current questions, with a lot of exo-suit technologies being applied to disabled, and a good one to ask and explore. There is always the really great fight scenes that you can find in any gundam series, and there is plenty of it. The high school drama is a bit slow but in general it is a really good show. 3.25 barks out of 5
- Nicky larson et le parfum de cupidon : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicky.....fum_de_Cupidon
This french movie is based on the City Hunter anime's french translation, Nicky Larson, which I watched as a kid. And yes, the french translation, since the characters make references to others famous series from the same show, have the host of the saturday morning cartoons of said show make a cameo, use all the tropes and references from the silly censored cartoon (the Mokkori, the sex part of the anime, are all removed from the french translation but a character is named from it). I watched it with a friend which is also from that era and it was so cool to get all the references. I was expecting something pretty crappy but it was actually pretty ok, having humor, an investigation and a lot of silliness. I don't think people who didn't watched the show back in the 80's can really get the movie, but it's ok. 3 barks out of 5
- Minecraft the movie : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Minecraft_Movie
I watched this with Fiona, which was helpful because there is a lot I wouldn't have gotten without a bit of explanation. It is otherwise super predictable and by-the-numbers. It is ok. Just ok. There is nothing I'll remember in a couple of days, but it was an ok movie to entertain an afternoon. 2.5 barks out of 5
