The Problem With Payment Processors
I'm sure a lot of you have already heard that payment processors like MasterCard and Visa have forced Steam's hand into removing NSFW games from their platform. They did this before with Gumroad and NSFW artists and I know a lot of artists were hurt by that, people like
Mastergodai and
Kadath were left without an online space to sell their works. Now it's starting to look like game developers are under fire, but there is hope.
Bills are being drafted to tell these processors that they can't do this, reminding them that their job is only to transfer payment information to verify that purchases went through.

I strongly urge you to contact your members of congress regardless of their party affiliation, this isn't a left vs right issue, this is about stopping corporations from gaining more power over us. But the movement hasn't stopped there, people are voicing their disdain and have started petitions.

If you're sick of this as I am then sign this petition, then share it with your friend groups so they can sign it! The more people that get on board the more likely this is to make news, and the harder it will be for them to ignore. So far it's close to 30,000 signatures, but with your help it can grow even further.
Take a stand and let them know that we will not stand for them trying to control the content we consume.

All thanks to you and Justa, if I didn't see your journals I'd still be in the dark on this.

a wise man once said "the price of freedom is eternal vigilance" and we cannot protect our freedoms if we are not made aware.

Indeed, which is why we must stand united in the face of threats like this

Funny enough, I've noticed people from both sides of the aisle seem to be against this, even if they don't realize it. Warms my heart in an odd way ^v^~

Seeing that does give me hope for a return to bipartisanship, but fingers crossed that they can remain side-by-side at least for this

I have no idea if that will ever be possible, but at the end of the day we all want one thing; to just enjoy our entertainment without it being watered down, and to have control of OUR money.
