So last month I worked up the courage to share some personal information. A few days ago, I got more news from the doctors, so I just wanted to let you all know.
Bad news: I have Hypereosinophilia. Basically a genetic mutation has caused my body to overproduce eosinophils, a class of white blood cell that fights off parasites. Because I don't have any parasites in my body, it's attacking my skin instead, which is causing my Exfoliative Dermatitis.
Good news: Medications are here to manage and control my condition, and hopefully in time it will make things better. In the meantime, though, I still feel like Dragon King (From The Monkey King 2023) whenever he's outside his bathtub.
If you've seen Cells at Work and Cells at Work: Code Black, cool anime, definitely recommended for some edutainment about the human immune response to pathogens. But also I feel like genetics gave me the Code Black spin-off when I don't have many bad habits just to screw me over. Like, I don't drink, do party drugs, smoke, take excessive energy drinks, etc. Regardless, I've got itchy flaky skin that will definitely get torn apart if I scratch too hard.
C'est la vie.
