A Normal Aether fan/main knows that his goal is to find his sister Lumine even they knew that that also could be reversed if Lumine is the traveler while Aether is the Abyss leader. Knows that Aether is not a self-insert character though he is a playable character and not really that perfect. They may ship him with one girl from his franchise or in crossover, but they're not into Aetherharem and knows that Aetherharem is nothing but a cringe meme and never sees Aether as a haremseeker who must gets every girls and impregnating them. And finally, they are know that there are other male characters in genshin and not just Aether, meaning they ships some genshin girls with some of them as well and respect people's opinions if they see that they don't like Aether x "Insert any girl" the normal aether fan ships him with.

A Aether-stan of course treats Aether like some kind of god and thinks he is superior than any other males. He treats other male character from his home franchise like crap and thinks Teyvat is all about Aether while other male characters are either reduced to eunuchs or just absent. They treat Aetherharem like it's a Best thing that came from god to the point they claim it being Canon while Hoyoverse could never ever make any shipping with Aether "Official" and rooting for him to get all the girls while other male characters gets no bitches at the end. And more, whenever a upcoming female character is announced then all they do is shipping her with Aether and adding her to his harem and if they see that someone critizes Aetherharem and/or ships any girl who got shipped with aether with another male character who's not Aether himself (Like Kazuha, cyno, Zhongli, Bennett and especially Scaramouche/Wanderer for example), they gets butthurt and then throws a tantrum that this "girl is belongs to Aether, not this guy" or similar.
