With how many paypal accounts were recently shut down, some artists are moving to alternative methods. This might be enough of a catalyst to push people to alt methods.

We honestly need some kind of middle-ground. Like some kind of legal money laundering, a service that would basically just hide what you're buying from the credit card companies.

I 100% agree. Or they can just do their gawddamn job and process the transactions without being moral arbiters.

Man, wouldn't THAT be nice? I don't think we can trust them to actually do that any more, though (I mean, obviously) so I think having some kind of blind cutout in the system would be better. Then THEY couldn't be sued or something for it, so they're covered, and they can't see what the money is being spent on, so they can't try to tell us what we can do with our own cash.

You've basically described crypto. Buy the currency from an exchange, goes into your wallet, send from your wallet to another wallet. Done.

Yeah, we just need some kind of automated process, honestly. Where there's an intermediary that the bill gets sent to, they use your card on file to buy crypto of that value, then immediately transfer it and sell it, creating a blank wall that the card companies can't see through, then sends the money from that sale to the recipient of the payment. That way you can make your purchases without having to yourself deal with the hassles of crypto.

Paypal. Stealing your money for no reason even when you get hacked and reported it.

YUP. And perma froze my account for it too. can't even get my money back because guess what? ITS UNDER A DOLLAR.
