From what I'm reading it kind of sounds like a good thing to me.

For platforms like Steam and Itch.io, this could be a good thing if it helps protect them from getting cut off because of their content. But if it means that Visa, Mastercard, or banks have to work with clients they see as risky, it could lead to bigger issues in the financial system. If you care more about free speech and equal access, you might think this is a positive move. On the other hand, if financial security and institutional freedom are your top priorities, you might see it as a negative. I hate Trump as much as everyone, but the way I see it: It’s really a balancing act between protecting rights and keeping things stable, where you stand depends on what you value most.

I agree, but I feel the only way a company should not allow processing is if the content is illegal, they DID allow for CSAM to be purchased on OF, but they went out of their way to ban and censor people who published manga and anime in Japan.

At the end of the day, you’re right: companies really need to prioritize getting rid of illegal stuff like CSAM instead of messing with legal content that matters culturally. The fact that they’ve dropped the ball on both, letting CSAM slip through while censoring manga and anime, shows they’re not being consistent or honest. And saying it’s all about “brand protection” doesn’t make sense when their actions are already damaging trust. It's totally justified in calling them out they need to step up their game.

To be honest this is an executive order, not something Congress passed. That means a future President could undo it, or banks could challenge it in court and tie it up. And banks might claim they were just “managing risk,” not punishing someone’s views. Proving it was unlawful could take some work.

But PIX does not utilize credit card flags as third party it generates a QR or Barcode which wires money instantly from one's bank account to another be it normal or business so much so sellers and stores accepting pix as payment.

from what I've read, this EO is designed to address banks that discriminate or deny services for reasons be it reputation, political, or religious reasons. Though this only really applies to US law, so I don't think this would affect anything like Brazil

We've had cases of payment processors taking a moral stance against things they didn't like for several years now. Their battle with Steam and Itch.io is only noteworthy in how overt it was. I'm not surprised that people would hit back once they started acting in the open.

Unlike other countries though we in the US have several checks and balances. believe it or not the KOSA bill from last year didn't make it past the house, even though the senate did pass it.

And then there's the case of the President choosing not to sign it or not, this is pretty much why we're not an outright surveillance state like other countries.

Well from what my brother told me; CNN is using the argument that people don't have a legal right to a bank account, HOWEVER discrimination, is discrimination. And alot of what the payment processors did does fit that category.
