It's been too hot over here to even grow lilies. Heck, the summer heat has been busy wilting the weeds. I'm just happy that my two sapling trees that I got earlier this year are still hanging in there. For anyone that has a 'green thumb', I'll give you applause from the other side of my laptop screen.

** I did try to take care of an Easter Lily plant: I got one from my church, and I gave it to my stepmother. She put in in the backyard and forgot about the darned thing, and it was in sorry shape when I saw it again. I offered to revive it, but, it might have been too far gone at that point.

Since I found out that Easter Lilies are toxic to cats, I just don't raise the plants at all. Thankfully, none of my kitties ate from the plants!

Easter lilies have bulbs so, it should bloom again. Most of the store bought ones are weird hybrids though, so they never quite bloom as well a second time… but they’ll come back. I think. Wait, I’m thinking of hyacinths. 😃

Unfortunately, that was a few years ago. My parents moved away, and, the plant went away. But, at least we had an Easter Lily for a time.

And, I looked up hyacinths. Pretty-looking plants, but, they're not cat-friendly either.

Ah. We haven’t had cats in a long time. I don’t think they ever messed with the plants though.
