Another good thing to do is to contact the artist via a platform you know they're from, and say "Hey, before I send you anything, I sent you a message on -platform-. Can you reply to me so I know this is legitimate?"

That will usually get them to leave you alone, or they'll start digging themselves deeper by saying they're banned or something...

Is quite sad that people are targeting artists so much lately...

They pop up every few months.... A new set of scammers trying to pull the same scam. Sad that it messes with the artists they impersonate.

Believe me, the best way to prove that you're the real person if someone else is impersonating you is by continuously posting new content such as artwork on a regular basis, especially if you're able to use a watermark for proof.

Okay, I don’t follow many big ones, but I have never seen once an update about impersonators from the big names. Even going through old notes and journals, though it is possible they deleted them once the issue is solved, so there is that.

Either way, Why are there so many suddenly and why are they coping you specifically? Did you get cursed? Did someone make evil clones that all think they’re the real you? Is this a operation from a major intelligence agency? What’s happening? The only people I see THIS man my fake scam impersonators is usually YouTubers that are aimed at children. But a furry artist? Once feels like a complement as it is awful, you’re big enough people and bots use your name to steal from others, this is like… what? Thrice within two years?

I've seen it happen with a lot of furry artists lately. I think we're just a niche market they're trying to tap - any artist with a remotely decent following seems to be at risk. Scammers have always been present, but it's odd that it's happening with this much frequency. The fact that it seems to be happening with consistency leads me to think it's a group - my personal theory that I pull out of nowhere, is a small company or group somewhere like China or Indonesia (just somewhere remote enough that it's hard for westerners to follow, but close enough they can keep their ears to the ground for artists with enough success to bother trying to scam). Super well known artists still get targeted sometimes, but less so than even slightly less popular artists in my experience.
