How do I quit using OneDrive without deleting all of my files?
A few months ago I canceled my OneDrive but it removed all of my files from my computer and kept them online. I literally want the opposite of that.
I want all of my files to remain on the computer just not linked to OneDrive.
I want to then save my files on my external hard drive.
I had to repurchase OneDrive to resync all my files back to my computer. I do not want to be paying for this every month anymore since the price went up.
I just have not had any time or mental energy to try and figure this out again. And their support is a joke and no help.
Please please please if you can help I would appreciate it.

It's my understanding that you can copy any files from your PC's OneDrive folder (the folder with a blue cloud icon) to anywhere else (outside the OneDrive folder) and they won't be linked to OneDrive, they'll just be regular files.
So you should be able to copy all your files onto your external hard drive no problem.
Then if you cancel OneDrive, you can just copy them back to your PC afterward.
