25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009
"Heroes live as though the world were as it should be, to show it what it can be." ~Angel the series
The world is twisted and broken and messed up. Many people are cruel and those who aren’t ignore those who are – giving them silent approval. I can't fix everything or everyone, not even close – the world’s too big for that. The bad outnumbers the good so intensely that it feels like nothing we do matters.
But if nothing we do matters – if there’s no greater goal or aim or reward – then all that matters is what we do. The impossibility of it all just makes trying – trying to fix and help and build back up the lives around us, build back up our own lives on an everyday scale - that much more important.
Because that’s all we have. The ability to try.

Anyways. Happy new year everybody!
