For those of you who follow me on Bluesky you already know this but...

This last Saturday my boyfriend of nearly ten years sadly passed away suddenly. He'd been sick for a while but we were managing it as best as we were able. He'd gone to the ER and they wanted to keep him for observation.

None of this was out of the ordinary since they've had to keep him before. However after his dialysis on Saturday he had sudden cardiac arrest.

From what the doctor said it was fast; they tried to resuscitate but it wasn't taking.

I had seen and talked with him three hours before then. And I had to say goodbye before the sun even set.

I'm not bringing this up to be an attention seeker. He wasn't a part of the fandom so no one really -would- know him. I just... I know that I have friends here. People who care about me. People who wanna make sure I'm alright.

I just wrote this so I had something at least out there to show to the world that he existed. He didn't have much of an online presence and didn't have many fandoms he participated in. So I want to say 'Jim was here' - even if he wasn't *here*.

If you've read this far, thank you. I know sad journals exist all over and I don't wanna just add to it. I just wanna leave this.

If you care about someone, whether as a friend, a lover, or just someone who you support or someone who makes you happy?

Let them know. Let them know how much they mean to you. Because you'll never know if they'll leave one day.

And they deserve to know you care.
