Are Canine Tongues THAT hard to draw?.....
Back again with a classic Spirix Rant
Noting Major or important, no alarms, just annoyed venting
Getting it out of my system in a healthy-ish way.
So, I wasted some money on a handful of Portraits to try and get basically a "Panting Dog" type of image.
(Nothing expensive, I am a great bargain hunter)
But, all but one image, seems to draw the tongue small and still mostly in the mouth, even though I have pointed out: WITH IMAGES/PHOTOs as Reference. And, I notice they all look like basic human tongues, and not canine/dog tongue.
Again, I went out of my way to get references, CLEAR VISUALS.....and all but 1 person just insists on drawing a short and small looking human-like tongue.
Are they that hard to draw, even with references (with different angles...but Im detail oriented)
Or they just scary and alien? "To real" like some people say about "realistic Animal-accurate" Junk?

ohlordhelpmethroughthistrialWith a knife. If it was a mater of being uncomfortable with making anything "To close to the real thing" then Fucking Tell Me! Stop taking my money, and giving me crap!
Or at least 80-90% Are Canine/Wolf Artists.
Best image I got out of the bunch didnt even come from a furry-prominant artist.
And no, XD
Im not looking for vore-centric, thats WAY to much detail for what Im looking for,
But honestly it says more about the artist accepting the commission but also refusing to draw it how you want it. if you gave the refs first and they still accepted it, i'd honestly be partially tempted to call it a scam
Just not very good. And that upsets me more actually, because it gets me excited that they'll draw a decent image, and sometimes its just not very good, or done the laziest way possible.
Upsets me more, when I get an excuse that they cant/wont fix or adjust it.
Worse.....I watched an artist LIVE, ignore my references, and go on google, and just got a person sticking their tongue out
lets say it was someone painting a room or putting in tiles or anything else and you asked them to do it a certain way and showed pictures. get told they will do it that way. And then refuse to do it how you asked after the fact. Would you not call them scammers for lying and not doing it right even though the technically did what you wanted?
Its different if you just gave a description of what you wanted and then later after getting the wip you sent refs of exactly how you want it and they refused, still shitty, but not as bad as seeing exactly how you wanted it upfront and saying they will do it that way and then just refusing once they actually work on it

I need that in my body somehow....
If they aren't able or willing to draw it despite being shown clear reference and being asked to do it a certain way, It gives a sense of low comprehension, poor quality of service and low skill. I mean hell, if someone asks for things to be specifically this or that and I miss the mark, I will redraw or even repaint the part until it's satisfactory. If I can't do it due to low skill it's on me and it's time to learn up.
And if it comes from a place of avoiding "icky realistic anatomy" I'd avoid them as a complete waste of time, I'd spend time examining their prior works carefully to see if they pay attention to detail before any commissions come into consideration. I wouldn't trust most artists to even get the head shape right on my characters, don't even mention the more complex details.
And in a Job that's inconsistent. Dam right Im getting corrections! (If possible)
With that said...under half of them are willing to do corrections. Others are very...you get what you got / I did my best, no changes.
Ive worked with...well...MANY types of Artists, not everyone is the same. Some are 1-and-Done. Some are willing to make corrections, some are willing to do the sketch or even all the work before payment. And some are obviously more detail oriented and follow descriptions more then others.
Or sometimes you get someone who will just slap something together, bam I got paid dont care.
Ive encountered virtually every type of artist. (And not just Furry)
And, well, on that last bit, these people love to say these things AFTER they get my money. Which either means they didnt even look at my order before asking for money, and LIED to me. Or they decided randomly they suddenly cant/dont wanna draw "animal anatomy" this time.
Which pisses me off, mainly, because I always check in if my Order is understood and Ok. And naturally, they are very quick towant my money that they will lie to me, and then SUDDENLY either tell me...ugh I cant/dont wanna do this. Or just ignore it and do whatever they want.
Which, kills my trust in people.
And you know DAM WELL, they wouldn't like wasting their money and not getting what they paid for.
Im doing my best to not be a complete Doomer...its tiring, plus I get really lucky sometimes and get commissions that really make me smile.
Its just luck-based sometimes. Because even the best and great artists cant get shit right.
And a random nobody suddenly gives me the best picture ever for $5 (Has happened many times)
I see their art 1st, I see what kinda subjects, how many species, and what else they are capable of Drawing, BEFORE I ever employ them to commission.
So it upset me, when I commission them, give them a detailed description, WITH examples. And suddenly they can't draw.
I dont even ask for anything crazy (Not yet at least) I always cater my ideas to what I observe in their gallery.
Something I want. That they look like they should be able to draw.
Kidding, I know the "fandom" HATES anatomically correct anything so that hurts a lot of artists that are scared, the ones who are not I give big respect too. I feel your pain.
....not like you were using them anyway....
I dont think that's completely true.
Just a Quarter of it is scared of Anatomically correct Reproductive Organs
Yapper :3
Yeah that is what I was getting at. I noticed a massive increase though, social media deosnt help.
1. I don't draw enough panting (but we do love a tongue hanging out the side goofy style apparently?)
2. i honestly never noticed this but now i cant unsee it?? thanks :')
3. ISNT THE WHOLE POINT TO BE ANIMALISTIC?? anthro or feral, isnt the point the animal part of things??? kinda puts the the fur in furry????? THE HECK
