In all honesty, I have not noticed the pandemonium that people have said is happening. I have successfully been living my life normally and without obstruction for a while now, ever since all this emphasis started. I am not fully versed on how Trump's policies are affecting the economy currently---other than tariffs---but I do know that there is a substantial level of complaint from people all over the country.

There is perfect right to be upset about the ongoing situation in America, but I hope that this does not turn into something that overtakes you mentally. It is good to be aware, but be wary not to let it consume you, because you will be a very sad person.

Exactly. Letting it consume me (which admittedly I tend to do a lot) will definitely bring me down, and ironically lower my chances of success even further.

Daily life isn’t all that different with Trump in office, but that’s just because I’m not in the adult job market yet - I had a summer job last summer, and that was technically my first-ever real job - so if I was just a few years older and/or not college bound, my life would probably be significantly more stressful.

The only reason I’m even stressing about this right now is because I try to think ahead and plot a tentative path of the direction something is going in. Right now, for the whole world (the USA especially) things aren’t looking the best.

I did the college thing, it was completely useless to me. I no longer pay attention to politics and the like anymore after I realized all sides are the same and both sides only care and desire power and or money and peoples lives are the least of their worries. I also realized the world had become a very dark and unfriendly place more than not. People lost compassion and the desire for friendship beyond through a screen. I see the things humanity is accepting as "ok" or just being complacent with things that are clearly terrible things and how we treat one another and it reminded me of history. So I delve into that history. What I discovered is a lot of uncanny similarities between the fall of ancient civilizations and myths and what we are doing today. Same shit they did back then that ruined their society and caused collapse. I realized its a cycle and we seem to not be able to break out of it.

So instead I'm just trying to figure out how to survive it, being rich no longer matters, just surviving is the only goal and finding and doing that one thing that brings you joy even if that joy is only for you to enjoy (like making music is my joy and it really doesn't matter if people like it or not though it would be really nice!).

And you final point about the jobs, yes, that's most likely what's going to happen. I'm kind of already set up for a collapse since I live on a ranch/Farm so I would be good for at least a few years.

My suggestion, don't stress over the shit you can't single handedly change, shit is going crazy and it doesn't seem there's any stopping it or slowing down. Just find the thing you love to do and focus on doing that and just kind of ride the wave, go with the flow, we live in a really weird ass time even I'm completely lost, and honestly I feel like a passenger lookin out the window of a Train I cant stop of whomst the operator and destination are completely unknown. It's like being on a roller-coaster only without the fun and all the terror.

I hope we aren’t doomed, but I agree. Just trying to get by and make a life for myself. I don’t care about being rich, never have. I just don’t want to be homeless or living paycheck to paycheck.

I don't think we're doomed but I think some scary stuff is gonna happen and stuff is going to change radically. And Yeah I hear ya there, just trying to make a name for myself as well, just want a comfy meek life doing what I like. Time for having a boss over me is done, I'm gonna be my own boss from now on, much better that way XD

Yeah, going into business for yourself is seeming more and more like the ideal move to make every day. It’s just incredibly risky depending on what level of investment is required.

Risky? Yes, Worth the drive to make it happen, worth it. I haven't had a boss in about 20 years and honestly I live a pretty stress free life, yeah I gotta worry from time to time about money but I dont have that added stress about losing my job or making someone else happy above me that could fire me or doing what someone else wants me to do when they want me to do, besically, not being anyone's bitch. And it's made me a happier person for it all the way around even if my struggles are a little more difficult than others, it's at my own time on my own scale and I get to decide how I want to manage it, not someone else or beholden to someone.

When you put it like that, it sounds like it is indeed worth the risk.

It is, at least as long as you know there is going to be risk and to expect it, but risk is in everything, this one was one worth taking and one I'd again and again. It's very freeing and liberating when you're your own boss.

A problem I’ve noticed in my many years of life is that people seem to forget that just because they’re not personally affected by things doesn’t mean that it’s not happening. We live in a democracy which means everyone’s vote affects EVERYONE, not just the individual.

I live in the Bible Belt, lots of rich, white, old, religious folks like to tell me how “people shouldn’t worry so much”, just because they aren’t seeing these horrible things happen firsthand, then all of a sudden they get affected by ONE thing and it’s “surprised pikachu expression” and “I had no idea these things were happening”. Not saying to mull over politics in the day to day, but being educated and observant is insanely important too. Uneducated people with voices and power are the most dangerous people out there.

Exactly, people either act oblivious until something affects them because they don’t care about suffering of others (or they WANT the suffering to happen) or they continue to act oblivious regardless. Their mindset is constantly: “the people in power can do no wrong.” or “yeah, I’m struggling, but as long as the people I dislike are ALSO struggling, that’s okay.”
The government doesn’t have to do much to ignite the proverbial fire of pitting us against one another, but that doesn’t mean they won’t pour fuel on the flames anyway.
