I think that there is some reverse psychology going on. Mark my words that those who were bosting about gun control are now going to be gripping about it. Biden and Trump could do the same thing, but you are going to have those that take sides. So I'm sure that someone left of the fence is going to come up with a new one that holloween should be banned because pumkins are orange.

I've known Karno for years, and I think he is a very nice guy. It also doesn't bother me if his political views are different from mine, and that of many of his friends.

One of my best friends swing way left, and they know that I swing more to the right. "I know, a gay person who isn't on the left side of the fence, and I could write a whole thing about it. I consider myself a moderate. When we are together we just don't talk politics, and sometimes it does slip in but is usually stops when we realize that it turns political. Even with in politics, not all lefties are going to think the same just like all righties are going to think the same.

My BIL is heavily left leaning,… him I can’t talk to, at least not directly. My sister (school teacher) is also left leaning, however she much like myself is more centrist so we get along well.

To be fair, the orange guy had a close call as a rifle target before elections. But he's a populist and (as far as I can tell from outside) he's careful to publicly advocate only things popular in murrica. I would not expect him to focus on unpopular issues because that's obviously not a winning strategy. I do expect Democrats will take care of that for him and lose again because they have painted themself in political corner. (No offense ment, I do not live and vote there and have no strong opinion.)

Same deal as with every other Yankee, and by extension any other human or sentient lifeform. You get the same rights as everyone else, so long as you behave and stay out of trouble.

And being able to fight and shoot, especially from a self-defense perspective, is something anyone can do, regardless of demographic. If anything, it's something anyone should learn to do.

Today, I read an article in which a 13 year old was caught just before his mandatory US school shooting, making threats online. He had no less than 23 weapons in his home (yes, his parents were there; they said it was all a mistake, 'he was just trying to look cool to his friends!') including 14 rifles and tons of ammo and loaded magazines. More than half of said guns were illegally obtained, with all the serial numbers filed off.

My point? Even if by some looney twist of the law they banned trans people from owning guns, they would all still be able to get them if they wanted to, and to be honest, might be encouraged to get some after a law like that was passed, as it would suggest some upcoming violence.
