My Furry Migration 2025 experience
Got to attend a convention known as Furry Migration the other day.
Usually, there are numerous panels and activities at the con that I would like to have participated in, but this year, not a whole lot of them interested me. Fortunately, I got to talk to
kitsunefoxtaur in coming to the con, and we got to spend all of yesterday together.
After finding parking space in the parking ramp linked to the Hyatt Regency hotel and getting registered, Neo and I went to his hotel room at the Sheraton across the street to get settled in and catch up after having not seen each other in 11 years. Then we got to participate in the massive group photo and the parade before getting lunch at the Sheraton cafe (the cafe market at the Hyatt had a long line). I dressed as a Cherryton Academy student from the manga and Netflix anime series “Beastars” (a few attendees commented that I looked like a business deer).
After lunch, we got to watch numerous media on Blu-Ray and DVD in his hotel room, some of which he had never seen (including several Private Snafu cartoons, some animated 1950s commercials Disney produced that advertised a few cars and some animated Kool-Aid commercials directed by Tex Avery, the animated version of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Song of the South”). We also got to stop by the Dealer’s Den and got a couple things, including a lanyard which he didn’t have. Finally, after a long day, he helped walk me to my car and hugged me multiple times before I set off for home.
Even though there wasn’t as much variety in the panels and activities that would have piqued my interest for this year’s convention, I still had a nice time hanging out with Neo and interacting with other attendees I recognized. Hopefully, next year’s convention will have more options for me to get involved. Perhaps I’ll consider hosting a panel myself, but I’ll see.
