I'm back from my con season
This year, I've gone to Get Out the Float (GOTF), Texas Furry Fiesta (TFF), Furry Weekend Atlanta (FWA), Texas Furry Siesta (TFS) Tails and Tornados Fur Con (TTFC).
I've been inactive here for months at a time and its because I'm still attending College, dealing with a ton of house work and attending an outstanding number of cons.
Some of the cons were good and some could've gone better. GOTF was pretty asinine when it came to their sudden policies. I had Raff (latex inflatable dragon suit) and my Zenith float. When I asked if I can wear Raff on the con floor, I was given a maybe beforehand and then a definite No when I arrived. I brought the Zenith float hoping to use it in their famous pool with all the floats. I put a red tag on it to indicate that I didn't want anyone riding it and they never said that I couldn't use it in the pool until I brought it out, inflated it and brought it to the pool once again singling me out at the con. I packed up and left early out feeling like there was some kind of vendetta against me. They tried to give me an explanation and tell me that there were no hard feelings but I wasn't buying their story and swore to never return and give them any more of my support..
However, my family including my 7yo niece saw the photos of Seaside and the con and wanted a vacation there for next year so I guess I'm returning for their 2026 con while expecting to be kicked for no reason as soon as I arrive. After their sudden uproar against my latex items, my projects including the latex orca will not be shown or talked about at the con or their Telegram chats.
TFF was busy but still good. I attended a few panels and got good food, I want to thank my roommates who shared their room with me during the con.
FWA. The only good thing that happened at that con was having my floats in the pool and a DQ just around the corridor. Other than that, the con was a major pain in the ass. Faulty elevators and a cornucopia of construction happening. One small step for man, one giant line for dealers den admission and con registration and pretty much anything you wanted to attend there. The con staff have no idea what they're doing and no idea where anything was at. I missed Phenod's Pool Party entirely, I almost gave up finding the inflatables meet and it felt bittersweet when I did after dealing with the needless run arounds from the con staff and the worst part: losing my favorite badge, my neckerchief from my fursuit crafter and my favorite lanyard from a now defunct con dealer. The con and the Peachtree staff made ZERO effort to recovering them. I was so upset that it ruined my con weekend. I went for the Sponsor package for the con which entitled me to a free shirt by the time I finally attended the con booth after so many run arounds and lines, they refused to give me my shirt with the excuse of having it put up. I decided that I'm not attending FWA again next year for their incompetence.
TFS and TTFC were mostly chill. I wouldn't have them any other way except that Megaplex is still running on the same weekend as TTFC, I wish they would go back to their August date one day so I can once again attend Megaplex with most of my friends
Cons I have planned for next year I already mentioned GOTF, I want to like that con so I'm hoping their attitudes toward me will change. TFF is my main con, I've attended that since 2019. Others are not planned due to financial reasons and conflicting dates.
With the con season completed, I can get back to some drawings and more crafts !

I know GOTF was kinda tough but it was better than DenFur which is the most letdown for me. Still can't beat CalFurry as my favorite con of the year.

I'm sorry that things didn't go well for you at GOTF.
