Your friend?

"My Friend Malamar" is the title of the video I'm reacting to in the video I posted. It's a reveal video unveiling Malamar's new Mega Evolved form to promote Pokémon Legends Z-A, which will launch for the Nintendo Switch on October 16. There's a preview trailer for My Friend Malamar ("Malamar.MP4") that dropped a week prior, followed by a short advertising campaign with Pokémon's website, Pokémon Center stores, and whatever fan sites they could convince to play along having a My Friend Malamar theme.

After My Friend Malamar dropped, it was renamed to "The Truth About Malamar," because the whole concept is that Mega Malamar is psychically brainwashing people to become its fanatical devotees. A regular Malamar is already capable of mind controlling people (there's a couple of episodes in the X & Y anime where its the villain), but Mega Malamar takes it to another level and can invert your entire personality.

Ah I see. I'm more excited for the game myself soon. Its almost here.
