A Matter of Perspective
Hello all! I know I have posted a few updates regarding my book 'A Matter of Perspective', but this one honestly brings me so much to announce.
As of today, I have FINISHED the draft for the core story. After 9.5 months of brainstorming, planning, and writing, I have written 23 chapter's to lay out the core story. I will add a prelude, prologue, epilogue, a dedication, and acknowledgement section in due course. The epilogue will serve as a separate piece that won't build on the core story, which I shall write during the weekly release of the book. Once the prelude and prologue are written, I shall upload those separately, either a separate PDF upload together or alongside the book cover. Every chapter, including the epilogue, will be released weekly for 24 weeks.
For now, I am going to eat a pizza to celebrate, and edit. But yes, the 9.5 month project to get a core story laid out is done. Words cannot express how much joy it has brought me to get to this point. After aspiring to have a setting of my own for 4 years ever since I joined this fandom, it has finally come to pass with not just 'Across the Pond', but a sequel that will expand the setting further to show life in the United Kingdom for Vastelerians (Macros), Petritans (Micros), and Ascendants (descendants of mixed size couples). It will include various pieces of lore and concepts that I will not just touch upon and expand in this book, but look to integrate into separate short storys down the line.
A Matter of Perspective will be the origin of my sona, while portraying parts of myself too. The creation of this book has been a rollercoaster of a journey (all good, but with moments of anxiety) that I couldn't have gone through without my friends. Through this story, I have poured parts of myself too, which my friends will spot the parallels between myself and my wolf's journey. To be at the end of drafting the core, I still have hints of anxiety left on whether this will live up to the expectation and hype people have shown, but I do hope it does.
To the people who have supported me, whether emotionally, reviewing the books progress, editing, brainstorming...I cannot thank you all enough. The names of those will be included in the acknowledgements page and shown shortly before the books release.
I look forward to seeing how people take to the book, to my setting, and hoping it will be well received.
Synposis:
Wrestling with no sense of purpose, identity, or belonging; Lupus Kintsugi is set down a path to steer himself through a nation divided by scale.
Born Petritan-sized, Lupus resented the hierarchy that privileges Petritans while marginalising Vastelerians, anthros with certain genetic markers that cause them to be many times the size of a Petritan. With little power to reverse these segregation policies, he pursued journalism to give a voice to the voiceless and challenge the society's propaganda. His articles, however, this places him at odds against a social culture that opposes cohabitation.
Lupus Kintsugi's mission to undo the damage The Division created is thrown off-course when he is forced to embark on a path of self-discovery - one that will test his resilience and bring him closer to answering the questions that haunt him.
Who am I?
What is my purpose?
Where do I belong?
