Make the world a better place, Hug a Zombie!
Went out to dinner with my mother, to a themed restaurant next to the AMC theater, a place called 'Taste of Britan'.
Fairly straight forward English menu, a few minor concessions to the minors in the party who might not like Bangers and Mash. (Needed Salt. And Pepper. And possibly half a dozen other things, but mainly Salt and Pepper)
They also have a little 'Shoppe' area, with British and Australian Import goods, some Frozen, other Shelf Stable.
So, I picked up a some Airways Gum, a couple of bags of Toffees, Mr Kiplings Exceedingly Good Cakes, a box of Scone Mix, a Moros bar which I Inspected closely when I got home (Digesting the information now), and a jar of Vegemite.
Which I then went against the natural way of things, and tried to actually learn how people from the country of origin USE the stuff. Imagin that, I did not just grab the biggest spoon I own and try a mouthful. Might have something to do with the fact that I LEARNED HOW TO COOK at one point in my life, and when presented with a new product I tend to READ UP on it, SAMPLE it, and even look at what calls for a SIMILAR FLAVOR.
So, Vegemite and Marmite both have a Brewers Yeast base, and some old European recipes call for Brewers Yeast, and it somewhat salty, or so I have heard. So, might be useful in dishes which call for extra salt. Fairly high in protein, Ect...
Additional information can be found on the Label, in the form of the Nutritional Information, which puts a single Serving at 5 grams. Jar says it is 220 grams, which puts it right around 44 servings per jar.
And so of course they recommend I use it to coat a Roast Chicken with. or Make Spaghetti Sauce, or (Possibly one of the stupider ones) Grab the BIGGEST SPOON I GOTS and GO TO TOWN!
I get the feeling that the ones promoting that last one also eat Tide Pods, or do the Cinnamon Challenge, and the ones who's channels have not updated tried Planking on the Train Tracks.
