During the night, many V'vaniish eliminate all sources of artificial light and, allowing the natural world to experience true darkness and as nature would provide it. In fact, being able to see well in the dark means they don't use many artificial lights during dark hours regardless.

Being tidally locked to it's parent planet of Zediu, part of Cantūn experiences twilight for a brief portion of every day, which can last from seconds to hours, as it passes behind the planet. During this time, the moon is described as being "under Zediu's (Mother's) tail", and was believed in ancient times to be the Mother, Zediu, shielding her children from the wrathful bouts of Zedith (their sun), the Father. While the belief has largely subsided, the terminology stuck, and many who dwell in the twilight regions of the moon turn off lights just as at night.
