An idea that I had ever since this nonsense began was “Why not just introduce an Internet Licence?” You go to your local DMV or some other governmental establishment, give them your information like you would for a driver's licence, then they give you an ID specifically for adult websites. That way you can prove you’re an adult and you don’t have to worry about your private information being stollen.

unforutiantly there is no such thing as a hack free system and we don't know if they will even store the info.

The problem with this: If your ID is tied to anything they can just steal data from that.

ANYTHING that involves transmitting data over the internet is not 100% safe.

Plus ot's also easier to blackmail people if your real identity is easily tied to it.

Bottom line, there should be NO FORM of identification. Instead parents should be taught how to use parental controls or something that helps them manage their own fragging kids how they see fit, everyone wins.

I see what Storm-Wielder is getting at, and if it could be done in a way that WOULDN'T put your personal information at risk, I'd even say "Yeah, that's what they SHOULD do!", but sadly, as you've said ANYTHING that involves transmitting data over the internet isn't 100% safe.

And yes, I agree that parents should use parental controls to help manage their kids how they see fit, but... Let's be real, people are lazy, of course they're not going to bother, even when the solution to that problem is DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THEIR FUCKING WORTHLESS FACES. They'd rather everyone ELSE suffer than be slightly inconvenienced for even a few seconds to set up parental controls.

At this point the gov't in the UK wants to control people and show they don't care.
