BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey, peeps! BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TIME. But before that, I need to do a little trauma dumping.
I've only yapped about this with a few people IRL, but I should come clean: last year, I was one of the artists on TeePublic who was swept up in a lawsuit from Toho, over my Godzilla art on there.
Well, I say "from Toho" loosely. It was actually a law firm in Chicago (look up the Luke Combs tumbler lawsuit, same lawyer and all) trying to flex for them. In fact, I was told that Toho was actually really upset about this, as it was mostly fan artists who were attacked by this ordeal, and it could have been resolved with an email.
The aftermath of that ultimately led to me closing my TeePublic store. If not to stay in good graces, it was to say good riddance. TeePublic made way more money off of sales than the artists, yet they were not held responsible at all. I wasn't expecting them to defend us, but for the responsibility to fall squarely on our shoulders? I was actually under the impression there was a bit of a loophole, that I was only selling my art. I was already taking issue with some of their practices, so letting them go was easier than you'd think.
What wasn't easy were the panic attacks. I have never felt my hands SHAKE like that before. My art output sharply declined because of this whole thing, and I am still trying to overcome that. Therapy and Lexapro have been helping level me out, though.
But that's where the big announcement comes in - I'm opening a Fourth Wall shop! While there won't be any Godzilla shirts (a birdy told me prints and stickers would be okay, but those will come later), there will be a good variety of goodies on there, including shirts!
Lastly, I have to give credit to BigNoseBug on Twitch. Her hilarious streams and beautiful community been a comfort through the rough times (despite the anonymity of Vtubing and silly avatars and usernames, it's a community where you can be true to yourself), and having bought some of her own Fourth Wall merch is what inspired me to do this.
The shop opens tomorrow (Sept 23) at 10 AM CST!

I also still have my Storenvy shop, as well as my Throne and Ko-fi.

Water under the bridge, tho. Hell, Fourth Wall has so many more possibilities than TeePublic ever had.
There's an "unspoken rule" about fan art that prints and stickers are "okay" because it's more or less free advertising for their brand *cough* it's not really feasible to enforce restrictions on it *cough*. The condition is to not sell it as products (shirts, mugs, etc), since that crosses directly into their market. Bootleg DVDs and toys go without saying.
