What's next for me?

I feel like I need to put some thoughts down here.
Three months ago I was laid off from my job. It was a good job, I did well, but my role was eliminated. It was very, very hard on me emotionally.
At this point I am considering if I have what it takes to create art for a living. It's much more than just creating the art itself. It's the whole business side of things. This is where I have very little experience, other than that I used to do the dealer table thing at cons. But I never really made a business plan, made complete schedules, or any of that type of thing. It was always off the cuff.
The idea of doing business for myself is a completely different mindset than that of being a W2 employee for my entire life. Even the thought of trying to run my own business is scary beyond measure.
Do I have what it takes to do such a thing? Where would I begin?
And if I made the effort to go legit, would anybody here like my art enough to want to buy some of it?

If you mean something like taking commission, you could give it a try and see how it works for a while. If it feels like something you can handle, you could continue with it. I'd like to get one from you if that ends up being the case. ^ ^
