what should I change about my artstyle?
hi everyone! i very often think about how to draw better. i study different books, browse other artists galleries, and look art you commission from other artists.
every artist is incredibly talented, and it's amazing how each one sees the world around us in their own style !
and I haven't been able to decide on my style for a few years now..... no, like, i have a certain pipeline, but i want to apply ALL the techniques in my drawing at once, and it gets messy..... don't you think so? what would you like to change or add to my art? maybe less deep shadows? sfw content? less detail? more emotion? more feral/guys/femboys/futa?
anyway, I'm confused and I don't know what I want XDD

First there is no bad style, you have your own for sure, depending on how toony you wish it to be it is very nice as it is but it is a fact that more realistic styles are more popular, some talented artist are popular and have a toony style but they almost all have their community that commission them, it seems like nothing but an active community repost the arts, give visibility, give better mental health to the artist that can keep going to run the wheel to turn !
Then art will never be perfect each and every artists have their struggles and can always do better to improve. I don't feel legitimate to give any advices in drawing or anything but I will review 2 of your drawings and tell you what I like and what I don't like and also why, it will be mostly made on my tastes so don't take what I say as something 100% the absolute truth or the path to follow, it is only me, just a weirdo, I'm nobody.

I liked a lot this drawing it's why I chose it, I think the anatomy looks very good on it and some very small details makes the drawing much better, I talk about the tuft of fur on legs arm and even the colors and shadows showing that she is fluffy adds a lot to the drawing, the lightnings are very soft it helps a lot to make the character not looking like plastic. I liked a lot the expression the pose is very hot. Then I'd say that the lil struggle would be the waist to attach to the hips I can understand that she bends but it looks a lil weird to me that the hips looks that much large and she looks unaturaly bent (maybe I'm wrong it's only my point of view).

This one is a drawing I don't really like, the chatacter is for something (it doesn't fit my tastes) so it's not your fault, but I think your art style doesn't helped her as well in this pose, it's pretty hard to describe, even more that I don't know the character and how she is on refsheet and other arts but I think you make some part looking too rounded like the butt, thighs just over the butt and around the pussy, those parts looks kinda exaggerated to me like too pronounced as well as the belly and it gives a impression of fat and the size of breasts don't help as well, maybe those parts looks like that cuz of the shadows/lightnings ? . I think it shouldn't be a line between pussy and belly, I think it is supposed to be a pretty smooth part, you can't really bend skin on the pelvic bone unless the character have indeed some fat. Then the torso looks a little too small to me, compared to the size of the legs or even the head. I know there is differents anatomy, but I think (maybe I'm dumb and wrong) with the size of thigh on mostly everyone your knees folded on your chest will never reach higher than your shoulders, I can understand there is perspective but I think as far as the character is from us the perspective shouldn't make the the legs looking that much bigger as the torso looks to be only few centimeters behind I'd say the same thing for the paws that looks to touch the the thighs with the heel.
I think if you really wants to change your art style you can try to just copy the drawing of few artist's style you like, train your hands on it and then create a new drawing with your chatacter for exemple, trying to use what you've learn from it / inspire you from those experiences to makes something you might like ! At least you can give it a try. And unless you want to keep the toony style you can also train on more 'realistic' anatomy.
Once again I'm really nobody, my drawing skills are just stickmans, I'm only writing what I think as a watcher, I don't pretend that everything I say is 100% true and I based myself on my own tastes. I only think that maybe those are things to try. The better would still be to get advices from skilled artists that are feeling able to help.
