If you want to start over, why not just make a completely new account under a new pen name and not link it to this one in any way ? That way it's a complete fresh start and this account can just stay as a frozen gallery. Even if you don't like the direction it ended up in, it would be a real shame if you deleted it, I think destroying art is something that shouldn't be done

But it is your art, so at the end of the day it's your choice. Tho I advise that you sleep on it first before taking such an irreversible decision

Because some of the art I've made isn't a reflection of who I am as an artist and I don't necessarily want it representing me as one. Technically it still exists as it's in my computer so isn't destroyed completely but as I move forward I want to create art with the vision I originally had.

I do agree that art is a reflection of the artist, so I do understand wanting to clean the artworks that you feel don't reflect you.

You said that you feel you've gone too far from what you wanted it to be; how about making a journal explaining the original vision you had for your art and themes, to keep your watchers updated on what subjects you do/don't want to handle moving forward ?

Maybe a few will leave, but at least the remaining watchers will know what to expect from you and hopefully won't bother you with things you don't want to do anymore

That's a shame. Not many artists do the kind of content you do, but at the end of the day your happiness and mental health are what matters so do what you need to do.

It's not a complete dismissal of gore/macabre as a whole. I just want to streamline it into it's original intent.

I think its fair if you feel like you need to start over, though I've seen plenty of people transition their accounts because they wanted to without creating a new one. I do think that perhaps though, you should consider rescinding that deletion request and not delete this one as well.

There are definitely still people who like what you created, and you dont need to continue producing under a monicker. You can just leave it in the ether. Music artists dont typically delete their body of work when they abandon a project, it doesnt make much sense to do so here either.

Just leave it as a complete set, a monument to your effort in the past for those who enjoy it, even if you pivot going forwards.

I haven't put in a deletion for this account. At least not yet. Leaving it in the ether still allows for the association. While I understand some of the things I made others enjoy it's about more what feels right for me, what I want representing me, and at the end of the day I want to produce what makes me happy if that makes sense. I decided to clean my page up instead of delete it though. But due to the rebranding I understand I may lose followers for it.
