What are the advantages of an art Telegram channel for artists?
(Don't say “community closeness” ... you have that with Patreon too, and there you know that these are people who really support you).
So what are the real advantages? <_<
At first, I was willing to be persuaded, but now I'm skeptical because of Grok's involvement in Telegram. I left X specifically to stop feeding the AI.

it is also encrypted , and recent discord data leak where they change TOS day after leak to "wash their hands that if they leak your personal info its your foult" kinda proves i would not be using it for anything else then voice chat to game with friends.
Not everyone believes in twitter, patreon, FA, bluesky etc and Telegram is their platform. Up to you if you want to be part of that.
Also bear in mind that no platform is going to be 100% safe from AI scalpers. Just like no platform is safe from art thieves.
What are the advantages and what are the risks?
As for privacy, it's the same I guess. E2E is only for secret chats in Telegram (so doesn't really apply here), public channels can be seen by anyone so you could still get scrapped if you are worried about that.
I'd say TG is better if you believe some content you post might end up against being Discord's ToS or something. Because everything else exists in Discord.
I used to post to all kinds of furry art sites to reach a wider audience but I had to stop. It was such a damn chore, and I don't make a living off of my art, I don't have to do it. It's a luxury.
FA muss man ja selber schauen und es geht auch oft unter, so hab ich zumindest das Gefühl, Telegram gibt´s halt nur Benachrichtigungen von Channels die ich nicht stummgeschaltet habe.
Macht denke ich einige Sachen einfacher, aber ist halt auch Geschmackssache.
Jeder so sein Geschmack, hehe
Mir wichtige Künstler Mute ich nie, will ja nichts verpassen. ^^

what I am getting out of this is: could be used, or not, depends on user
but I don't even use those functions. I talk to people, I send and receive files. I even entered a couple artgroups just to keep a closer eye on a few certain people. that's it for me
