We always tend to think that conflictual places are distant, since we see everything through a screen we dissociate ourselves and think that everything is so distant from us, but even in the most "civilized" countries things change slowly, I will not name names in my country, both because I do not know if it is legal, and because I will try not to create drama, I can only say that I am within the EU and that soon I may be forced to remove and no longer be able to produce some NSFW material. It wasn't enough that my country denied me fundamental rights such as concrete support for being a trans person and the right to marriage with my bf, now they have also decided that some art should be considered on par with real photos and they want to make owning them a crime. What's worse is that they intend to make it legal to use online surveillance tools on social media sites, literally internet stalking, and this is terrifying if we think this country calls itself civilized, I don't know if this law will pass, but it seems very likely, and after the wrongs already suffered, I understand well why only the elderly and children remain in this country and everyone flees elsewhere. The first step towards a dictatorship is precisely the control of the people. It's simply terrifying, and if I had the chance, I would have moved to another country a long time ago. Oppression doesn't always occur through physical warfare.
