What exactly is Black Star Bridle?
We are a lore-driven item adopt shop with a focus on equestrian equipment and merchandise. Most of our designs include horse tack, bridles and halters, rider's apparel, and accessories, though this may not be an all-inclusive list!
Wait, what do you mean by lore-driven?
Simply put, we have a story behind all of our items here! Have you ever thought of purchasing a magic wand from an Etsy shop that claims to have basilisk scales or phoenix feathers inside to fuel its magic? Or perhaps you visited a renaissance fair and was told that the dragon puppets were excited to be adopted, handing out certificates to their new caretakers? There is a certain magic in the unique story behind each item, and that contributes to its value! At Black Star Bridle, we craft each design from handspun wool shorn from fluffy and absolutely mammoth horses called Vasteuros! Each item was made form the wool of one of our horses, whose picture, name and story is recorded on a certificate of authenticity which comes with each and every design!
I am hearing a lot about Black Star Stables. Is that the same thing?
Yes and no. Black Star Bridle is an offshoot of Black Star Stables! The stables (BSS) are part of a facility run by Blaek Nova, creating and participating in conservation efforts for rare and vulnerable species. BSS specializes in equestrian breeds such as the Vasteuro, and often hosts or enters equestrian shows to spread awareness and extend its reach. We may also take interest in species of a more mystical persuasion, though that remains close to the chest since most would scarcely believe in such a thing! The shop (BSB), however, is run by a handful of staff who work or volunteer for BSS. These lovely people will have their own profiles posted as they are able, so you can see our lovely cast of characters and the roles they play in item creation; ranging anywhere from weaving and processing fabric to leather and metalworking.
So these are not physical items, then?
At the risk of peeling back the curtain a little bit, no they are not. These are digital designs that go the extra mile with unique stories, and are geared towards HARPG players (that stands for Horse Art Role Play Games) and story/character creators who want something nice for their equine or humanoid characters. Neither the items we sell nor the certificates they come with are physically produced, and are solely digital products. They are classified as Item Adopts for this reason.
Who created Vasteuros?
The Vasteuro breed is the intellecutal property of IdkWh4tImD0ing, who consequently runs the group Deviantart, Discord Server and the Vasteuro Association DA account. Neither BSS or BSB claim to own anything in regards to the Vasteuro breed, barring the horses on our property. What are Vasteuros, exactly?
Vasteuros are realistic fantasy equine breed known for their thick, fluffy coats and massive size. They range anywhere from 19HH-25HH, which if you know anything about horses means they are really, really tall! The Vasteuro Association is in charge of registration of these majestic beasts, bringing awareness to these gentle giants as they gain traction in equestrian communities across the western hemisphere. More can be learned about this noble breed in the HARPG group or their Discord Server.
Each piece we create comes from the wool of a special kind of Vasteuro (one who has exceptionally curly wool, in place of their usual thick double coat). They are cleaned and sheared as part of their vital care, after which we process the wool and create hand-spun yarn (dyed or kept in natural colors). This is the basis of all that we make here (though some items may be paired with other materials, such as sustainably sourced leather). Finally, as each item makes its way into its owner's hands, we leave them with a digital certificate of authenticity which names and depicts the exact horse we sheared to make your new piece! It also shares their story so that you know exactly how your new find came to be, making each design unique and personal.
What do you have for sale?, and what can I do with my new designs/item adopts?
As items are made available, they will be advertised in HARPG communities as well as our online platforms (Discord, Deviantart, Bluesky, Instagram and FurAffinity). Our custom designs are unique, and will not be sold again once they are gone. These items are displayed on our bases and marketed for either flat sale or auction for USD. Our equestrian model bases are Vasteuros, though any equine character of any size can enjoy them. While we do not sell multiples of the same design, you are free to use yours as many times as you like (meaning yes, you can depict multiples of your designs in your artwork or literature, but no one else will own anything quite like yours). You have full rights to whatever you buy, but we ask that you credit BlaekNova for the design, and do not claim it as your own work. You are also not allowed to resell designs for more than you paid to obtain it.
How often do you restock?
Because drawing harvesting wool and creating handmade items takes time, it may be a while between restocks. However, if you apply for memberships on our Discord Server, you may be put on a ping list so you will be the first to know when we get fresh new inventory.
Do you create customized items?
While we can recolor some of our stock or make minor adjustments (an example being horn fittings for unicorns), we may also take customs on a case by case basis. Anything requiring it's own lineart rather than premade will be sold at a premium. If you are interested in a custom commission, you can message us directly on any platform!

We currently only accept Paypal. All payments are made to
