AH! So this is what to expect for perhaps an elephant suit! For this one, I do like that appearance of this newest mascot in the sports world. Yes, you will see about some journals ago about the World Cup 2026 mascots-Clutch, Maple and Zayu, https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11228782/ , but for them, after the final game on July 19, 2026, they will be retired.
This one, is for the LONG term, provied that the Utah Mammoth does not move again (despite they are expansion, but were originally the Arizona/Phoenix Coyotes and before, the original Winnipeg Jets [ www.nhl.com/utah ]), and it would seem that they will be having him for a REALLY long time while they exist-unlike for the Colorado Avalanche where before they had Bernie St. Bernard ( Here he is!: www.nhl.com/avalanche/fans/bernie-the-mascot ), they had the more scary Howler the YETI. (Remember? 1- the end of Howler: https://milehighsticking.com/the-un.....t-01k1sf1hhr1y 2- another image: www.pinterest.com/pin/554083560378225473/ ) And there were claims of him being scary to children, and if you have ever played against him on a flash game a long time ago on the site, his fierce smile when drawn would give you nightmares!
I do not think the new mascot for the Utah Mammoth named Tusky would scare much young children. If you would see his eyes at a certain angle, I would understand. They will get used to it, and at times, he would be friendly. If can be quite possible that despite that when we see mammoths or even mastodons as near brown colored fur, in one's imagination, it can occur that if a being is frozen enough and still has fur connected, the hair can turn clear or blue if time passes enough. It may not be like Scrat in the final part of the first Ice Age movie, but it is plausible as when a furred or haired being ages, they get grey hairs-it occurs in every being, right
Greymuzzles??
It is good to say too that there are more Proboscidea now in the sports world (I know, pachydermia- but that order is obsolete in scientific terms. We have yet to see in the 5 major men's pro sports leagues a rhino and hippo...) It is a daunting task to make an elephant be anthro like how the MLB (FORMERLY OAKLAND, BUT NOT NAMED SACRAMENTO-yet) Athletics did for theirs named Stomper: www.mlb.com/athletics/fans/stomper . As we do see Stomper, his trunk is stagnant and is raised in the air-not always natural. Well when you see Tusky, you would see that the constructors did a great job making that trunk real, and even though there is no way of making it move at will without a machine that makes noise (It CAN be done, but there would be a LOT of upkeep...) having that truck be realistic when relaxed is a success in itself- UNLIKE THE HORRENDOUS TRUNK FROM ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE'S POPULAR BIG AL!: https://fanbuzz.com/college-footbal.....ephant-mascot/ When you see the video below, you would give it a seal of approval, and note the way Tusky trupeted when he debuted on the ice... And WOW yes, what tusks!
Yeah, let's see how he would have to face some curious kids having to pull on his trunk and tusks as Brodie says- OUCH if you're a fursuited elephant!
IF YOU ARE A FURSUIT CONSTRUCTOR....
Do have this one as a reference to what a trunk should be, and if it is that a commissioner would want a mammoth or mastodon (They are sutbly different-remember that!), his face is the perfect example of how a trunk and tusks should be. For Tusky's tusks, it is a mystery to me on what material they use, but do try everything in getting the secret on how to make them so real like ivory as you see. Of course, male elephants in Africa and Asia would have this as well, don't forget! So if it is that a male proboscid furry would like to have a fursuit, get ready to make those tusks if he want them to be as realistic as what Tusky is showing-this is the most realistic one from the current elephantine species to the ancient ones. It leaves Big Al (very) and Stomper as cheap.
I like Tusky so far! I will see how he will do in more antics that come up in the videos in the future! Yes, if you plan on putting your probocid furry to life, it will have to be Don and Tusky you may expect the constrctors to do him (with tusks) or her. It is rare to see probocid fursuits, but with the debut of Tusky with shiny tusks, let's see if fursuit constuctors can duplicate him if fursuiters want shiny tusks like him! Today, the elephantines have more respect and can get more potential being in suit thanks to Tusky!

BONUS! Here is what former sports anchor that used to work for NBC Sports Bay Area/California Brodie Brazil had to say about him, and I agree wholeheartedly!:

There is Don the Mastodon from Purdue Fort Wayne-note those tusks and the nicely curled realistic trunk!: www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-pho.....-news-photo/1453200742
