The Orionids

The Orion Nebula is approximately 1,300 to 1,500 light-years away from Earth, making it one of the closest large star-forming regions to us. This immense cloud of gas and dust is a stellar nursery where new stars are being born. Its proximity and brightness allow it to be seen with the naked eye as a fuzzy patch in the "sword" of the Orion constellation, though binoculars or telescopes reveal much more detail.
The Sun came from a giant, swirling cloud of gas and dust called a solar nebula, not a specific named nebula. This nebula was likely part of a larger stellar nursery containing many other stars that have since formed and dispersed. A shockwave from a nearby supernova likely triggered the collapse of this nebula, leading to the formation of our Sun at its center.
While other stars born from the same nursery may have existed, the nebula itself no longer exists, having been converted into the Sun and other stars. Scientists have tried to identify potential parent star clusters, like the star cluster Messier 67, but no definitive "birthplace" nebula has been named.
What I theorize is that our solar system is in a exopolitical crisis. Our parant creators may no longer exist, or visit this planet. Meanwhile, the Orionids may be coming from a planet in the Orion constellation, possibly Betelguese, that has been recently destroyed. This is why the alien Greys seem so alien to us. Our ancestry with extraterrestrials have been with humanoids from our origining region of space. The Greys are probably territorial, and since the Orion nebula is very close to us and still active, we may be getting visitors from there hoping to move Earth and our Sun into their borders.
The alien Greys are very fragile. They are nearly extinct, and have survived in space for a very long time. They can no longer sexually reproduce, so they rely on technology to keep themselves alive. At one point, the Greys had a genetic meltdown, and used technology to create the Small Greys. The Small Greys were thought to be able to fit into smaller spaces/craft, require less nutrient, among other improvements that come from a smaller body plan.
The Greys have been rumoured to have been routinely coming here since the Eisenhower administration. They trade technology for permission to abduct, implant, and monitor a quota of civilians, although these teaties are often broken fast.
Many extra-terrestrials are attracted to our nuclear programs.
