The cat distribution system is fascinating. An anthro feline would take a good look at you, their nostrils twitching as they smell your smell. It's a bit intimidating, as some of them are quite big and have to invade your comfort zone. You could call it, a vibe check.
After this, they may not like you and therefore avoid you as much as possible. It's futile to befriend them when they do this, almost as hard as pushing a boulder up a hill. Try pushing too hard and you may get clawed badly.
Now, what if it were a positive outcome? Then, forget about having a personal space. In any case, it can be summarised as such: 'Congratulations, you now have a friend! Do not resist, it is obligatory.' Felines are known to be very physical when they feel like it, the rougher type will get your neck locked with an arm and pin you against their side as they ask how your day was. And the more gentle ones would sneak behind you and gently bump with their hips.
That would be the lesser positive outcome. As you could end up with one of them being your lover if you like it or not. In that case, you are stuck with them, and don't be surprised if they move in the next day or try to convince you to live at their home.
