We made some dramatic improvements in 2025. We also experienced some major setbacks, but given the traumatic way that my year started, I'm going to do something rare and allow myself some grace with things that went wrong, and pat myself on the back for what we were able to accomplish.

For 2026, we'll be even better.

Price Changes

Prices will be going up across the board to reflect the rising cost of living in our country, and though I hate to do that, we actually lowered prices in 2024, so much that we're just getting back to 2023 rates.

We're also going to be making some changes to the commission types themselves to justify that uptick in cost.

Standard: $30/1k words. I'll be reinstating the completion guarantee (not estimates anymore) at 25 weeks, and these rapidly drop in price and completion time with Premier Club status.
Rush: $50/1k words. Starts at 15 week completion guarantee, and will have all the same decreasing price and timeline benefits.
One Week: $70/1k. Exactly what it says on the tin.
One Day: $90/1k. Same thing!

What's new: I will be doing monthly updates for EVERY customer with an outstanding story commission of any type, starting in January. I can't promise more communication than that, but I feel like communication has been my weakest suit this year, and guaranteeing a monthly update seems like a huge step in the right direction. Of course, anyone who reaches out between monthly updates will be addressed with as much information as I can give.

Even if there's been no progress on your story at all, you deserve to hear from me more often, and more directly, so that you know I haven't forgotten what I owe you. Admittedly, my work flow doesn't reflect a lot of this: I tend to just get to a story when it comes up in the queue and knock it out in a week or two, so if you get a story with a longer completion time, there's a good chance that I will have done nothing on it (25 week completion means it could easily be 22 weeks before I actually start,) but that's how I can be fair to people when I have a revolving backlog, and how I can keep people in the loop.

Patreon/Substar Changes

I'll be posting at least one early access story and one novel preview every month. Beyond that, it's hard to promise other rewards and benefits, but I can do that much, so...I will. It may only be two or three exclusive posts a month, but that much is a promise I can, and will keep.
