Wish I had any ablitiy to do art...

I've tried to learn the past, but I all I learned was where by abilities are, and they aren't in art. Which is a frustrating same, but of late I've had so many ideas for weird TFs, Character pictures, crackship art (one of which I don't think anyone has ever done any art of before) and other such ideas, and they just get stuck in my head. I can't afford to get even a fraction of my ideas done, and at times it feels like by the time I can commission something the idea had gotten too cold to really be worth doing anymore. It's this huge constant frustration that leaves me just wishing I could do something about it, but that's simply not something I have the skill, talent or ability to do.

Shot in the dark here, have you looked into any of the skillsets regarding technical drawing? An emphasis on the mathematics of perspective could break down art in a way that's more intuitive for you to process than the vagaries of gesture drawing exercises.

Believe it or not, yes. Drafting was still a required class when I was in Jr. High (and this was early 90s, so done all by hand). I honestly enjoyed it a lot more then wood shop. Lots of details, measuring things, projecting the views into three sides. I found it quite easy to understand and work with.
