Then, once upon a time, I noticed a wasp in a lady's hair at the bus stop. I told her not to move, and I carefully guided the wasp on my hand, from which it took flight.
After I explained what had just happened, she looked at me and told me that she was allergic to wasps, and I might have just saved her life. Wasn't expecting that! It didn't feel like a big deal to me.
like, have you ever looked up what a lamprey looks like when its not a close-up shot of its teethy sucker mouth?? SO cute
Pigeons/doves are hilarious I love those little feather orbs
And up to opinion obv.. giant centipedes, apes/monkies, squids, horseshoe crabs, jumping spiders, mole, etc
I see centipedes on here and I feel like they fall in a similar vein.
I freaking love spiders
Not to look at, but I like their medical uses.
There was also a case of a woman surviving a plane crash, but with a deep wound that got infected. Maggots saved her life by eating the dead tissue and preventing things from getting much worse until she was rescued.
And ants!!! Ants are so cool. Wait, do they even count as "gross"?
And yeah, cenitpedes are cute indeed, I agree!
My grandmother was totally freaked out by and terrified of frogs and lizards, both of which I love. Once when I was a kid, I also found a tiiiiny snake, the size of a pencil, and she almost had a heart attack when I showed it to her, chilling on my palm. :D Snakes are friends. Well, non-venomous ones anyway. Venomous ones are long-distance friends. XD When I was in India, I met a very deadly snake in a garden that I admired from a safe distance. Then the woman owning the garden carefully picked it up by the tail, placed it in a sack, and later released it in the jungle. (It wasn't a cobra, but it was just as dangerous.) Venomous snakes generally aren't aggressive; bites usually happen as accidents, eg. someone steps on them.
Some people are grossed out by earthworms, but they are fine. Actually, they are very beneficial for the soil. My grandfather taught me to look out for them when digging or gardening. They are friends.
We have a lot of snails around here, which some people dislike too. I don't get why. Snails are cute little friends. Slugs are alright too.
Many people consider pigeons pests, but I think they are cute. I have to admit, though, that city pigeons aren't exactly clean and can spread diseases, but it's not their fault. It is us who created cities.
Spiders are friends too, but I have mild arachnophobia, so I prefer not to get too close. Certain small ones I'm fine letting climb on my hand, eg. when rescuing them from the bathtub (which is a regular situation, LOL). The bigger, chonkier ones that make me feel uncomfortable, I catch with a glass and sheet of paper and release outside.
Generally, I believe in live and let live, and I avoid hurting anything if I can. The one exception is parasites. Fuck parasites. Especially ticks and horseflies.
and tardigrades, those little indestructible water bears
