Welp. I currently don't have access to my Bluesky account due to 2FA shenanigans. It started with me trying to sign in on the desktop, only to no longer be able to receive the 2FA code through email. For some reason, the email I had on file was just not receiving the 2FA emails anymore, even though it received emails from everywhere else.

At least I was still signed in on mobile so I could still access it there. So I thought I would just change the email on my account so I can get 2FA emails again. Apparently, it would send a 2FA email to the account currently on it before letting me change the email to something that actually works.

So I got in touch with Bluesky support so THEY can change the email associated with my account. After some hoops I had to jump through, they started working on it. Of course, it's gonna take a few days according to them. It IS Thanksgiving weekend, so no need for them to work through the holiday, after all.

But today, my mobile Bluesky signed itself out, so no more Bluesky until support changes my email and (hopefully) allows me to receive 2FA emails again so I can actually use the damn site.

Why don't they allow for SMS or auth app 2FA? Why does it have to be email only?
